sugar and spice and everything nice

Last Friday we had a little get together to find out if our gummy bears were going to be boys, girls, or one of each. At our doctors appointment the week before we had the ultrasound technician write the genders on a card and seal it in an envelope. I gave the envelope to Lori over at The Sweet Life so she could make a yummy and fun way for us to find out...
And I think she did a GREAT job. Lori made our wedding cake a year ago and she is so wonderful to work with. The fact that she was the ONLY person who knew was killing me and HER (but especially P-dubs).  We were really excited to share this news with some friends and family in such a special way. Cake, cake pops, homemade ice cream, chaos...it's all wonderful. And, seriously, it was chaos.  This poor townhouse saw more people at one time than ever before. But we were thankful people put up with the craziness to share in the celebration.

Some of the partay people...teeny, tiny townhouse.
Blue 'he,' pink 'she'...too cute. Made by an elementary teacher? I think so.  : )
Adorable present from Candace...

Cake pops...thanks to my sweet friend Erica's recipe.
Banana bread from new mommy Erin...not gonna lie, we don't see much home-baked goodness around here.  LOVED it.

Skyping in some VIP's...Mom, Gram, Jeri-Jo, Kirstin, and Thomas...

Howie...enjoy your last few months as an only child.

Cake 1

It's a girl!

Cake 2
Pink again!

What?!? Two girls!! That's a lot of hair to do in the morning!!! ; )

Tasted as good as it looked...if you need a cake, you need to get in touch with Lori.

Final votes...I voted one of each. P-dubs voted two girls. He wins.

Don't be sad Howie. You always have Kolten for boy time.
Love this kid. We're not so sure how Howie feels about him.  It can change at any given moment.

First girl outfits from Auntie Katie. She came prepared... : )
We loved finding out with so many people that are so special to us. I feel beyond blessed that our girls are loved already by people all over the country. This is going to be an adventure...especially for Paul--who later said "What do I do with girls?!" But I know he will do great...even if he's used to little boys. These little girls will be lucky to have such an amazing, godly man as their dad. Bring on the bows and tea parties and dance classes.
