a first birthday

Here's a flashback Friday for ya. The girls' first birthday. They turn two tomorrow and I never posted these. We're not having a party this year. Just a trip to the zoo and cupcakes with some family. I'm not exactly the best party planner/executor. Sadly, it is most definitely not one of my gifts. And I honestly think as a family we'll all enjoy a day together at the zoo just as much. But I am so thankful we have these pictures to look back on from that first big one. 

That day was kind of a blur. Poor CG was in the ER the night before she turned one with an 105 degree fever. Logan woke up on her first birthday at her Auntie Noney's since we were at the hospital so late. They brought her right over the minute she woke up but it was a little different than how we'd imagined the first birthday. Despite CG's mysterious fever, it was a still a wonderful day.  But she was still a little out of sorts two days later at their party and wasn't quite her overly-happy self. {I'm sure she'll make up for it this year. Especially because we had so many family birthdays in September that "Happy Birthday" is now one of their favorite songs. And anytime they see a cake or cupcake in a book they pretend to blow out the candles. Pure joy.} Thanks to my dear friend Lauren and my amazing sister-in-law Karen for the pictures!
