So...apparently, I am not meant to be a blogger and that's ok. But my sweet, talented, and ever-so-helpful sister made my blog look cute. And I have some big news. So we're gonna try this again.
For Christmas I gave P-dubs the best gift he's ever gotten in his life. Besides my hand in marriage. Ha. Getting this gift could be likened to the year every parent in the country was trying to get Tickle Me Elmo two days before Christmas. Except this chaos was caused by grown men...and shoes. I searched high and low. I called every sports store within a 60 mile radius of Charlotte and within a 100 mile radius of Effingham (my hometown in NH-no I'm not joking). I was determined to find a place to get this boy a pair of gray, patent leather Jordan XIs, size 10.5, when they were released on December 23rd. And I did it. Or really, one of his awesome basketball friends hooked me up when he got his. But I had the foresight to enlist his help. I'm not sure how a basketball shoe can cause so much ruckus... but I will admit the first time I saw that box and opened them, I felt a little giddy.
That Michael Jordan is tricky...causing pandemonium right before Christmas. |
Goosebumps. |
Little teeny, tiny box...big surprise. |
...tiny, little Jordans to match his. He was pumped. He thought they were the coolest thing he's ever seen. He couldn't wait to go put them with the rest of his collection. He...didn't get that it meant he would be having his own little Jordan-wearing tyke in less than a year. And when I disclosed this little tidbit...the boy wanted proof. What? Who jokes about this?!? Especially with overpriced footwear?? When P-dubs was satisfied this was the real deal, a dance that can only be described as a "happy dance" ensued. I sure hope our children get his dancing skills. Watching him is nothing short of pure entertainment.
But here's the real kicker. Looks like I should have bought two pairs of baby J's 'cause we're cookin' up some TWINS! We are thrilled and excited and scared and happy and thankful and so many other things. We are praying for a healthy pregnancy and two healthy babies. And we can't WAIT for the adventure to begin!
Our little gummy bears in all their 8 week glory. They should make their debut somewhere around the end of October or beginning of November. |
Devan I'm so excited for you two and almost started crying at the cute way you relayed the news to him. You're going to be a great mom!
